3554) Senior Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Develop and review product designs, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Ensure all designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Review designs for accuracy, functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify design issues and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
• Establish and maintain design standards, engineering procedures, and drawing practices.
• Project Management

• Manage assigned design projects from concept to production release.
• Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Purchase, Sales, and Tooling departments.
• Guide and support junior designers and design engineers on technical matters.
• New Product Development (NPD)

• Support New Product Development activities including feasibility studies, concept development, prototype creation, and validation.
• Coordinate sample preparation and customer approval activities.
• Support customer PSW/PPAP submission and sign-off processes.
• Participate in design reviews and product launch activities.
• Design Validation & Analysis

• Conduct and support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
• Coordinate Design Verification (DV) and Product Validation (PV) testing activities.
• Support Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis and simulation activities.
• Ensure design robustness and reliability through appropriate testing and validation.
• Engineering Change Management

• Prepare and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) based on customer requirements and internal improvements.
• Maintain drawing revision control and engineering change records.
• Ensure proper communication and implementation of design changes across departments.
• RFQ & Technical Support

• Review customer requirements and technical specifications for RFQs.
• Provide technical inputs and cost-related design recommendations to the Sales team.
• Support feasibility assessment for new customer inquiries and business opportunities.

Prototype & Production Support

• Supervise development of prototypes, samples, and mock-ups.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams during prototype and pilot production stages.
• Resolve design-related issues during production and product launch phases.
• Issue Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for assigned development projects.
• Documentation & Compliance

• Release and distribute controlled drawings to relevant departments with appropriate document control procedures.
• Maintain engineering records, design files, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF requirements and company procedures.
• Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in Product Design, Design Engineering, or New Product Development.
• Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, engineering components, fabrication, or manufacturing industries preferred.
• Hands-on experience in CAD modeling, DFMEA, ECN management, and product validation.
