3635) NPD Engineer – Fabrication Shop

Key Responsibilities

• Handle New Product Development (NPD) activities for fabrication components.
• Study customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Develop new products from concept to production.
• Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Purchase departments.
• Prepare and review BOM, process sheets, and manufacturing documentation.
• Plan fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly.
• Conduct trials and ensure successful product development.
• Identify and resolve development-related quality and process issues.
• Optimize manufacturing processes for cost, quality, and productivity.
• Coordinate with customers for technical clarifications and development requirements.
• Support prototype development and conduct trials before mass production.
• Ensure timely completion of NPD projects as per customer timelines.
• Implement continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Automobile Fabrication / Sheet Metal / Welding.
• Good knowledge of fabrication processes and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of BOM, process planning, and NPD documentation.
• Experience in handling customer development projects.
• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD / relevant CAD software will be preferred.
