📝 Key Responsibilities & Duties:

1. Material Sourcing & ProcurementSource core raw materials including Hot Rolled Plates, HR Coils, Galvanized/Galvalume Sheets, Purlins (C & Z sections), and welding consumables.Procure PEB accessories such as high-strength anchor bolts, sag rods, turbo ventilators, insulation materials, and fasteners.Review Material Requisitions (MR) from the design and production teams to verify technical specifications.
2. Vendor Management & NegotiationIdentify and onboard reliable steel mills, traders, and component manufacturers.Float RFQs (Request for Quotes), prepare commercial comparison matrices, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.Evaluate vendor performance periodically based on material quality, delivery timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
3. Inventory & Cost ControlMonitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts while avoiding high inventory holding costs.Track steel market trends and price fluctuations to make strategic, cost-effective bulk purchases.Coordinate with logistics teams to optimize inbound freight costs and ensure timely delivery to the plant.
4. Quality & ComplianceEnsure all materials comply with project-specific structural standards (e.g., ASTM, IS codes).Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA/QC) teams for material inspection, testing, and handling Mill Test Certificates (MTC).Resolve material rejection issues with vendors, managing replacements or debit notes efficiently.
5. Documentation & ERP ManagementGenerate Purchase Orders (PO) accurately in ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.Maintain meticulous records of POs, invoices, goods receipts, and vendor correspondence.Verify vendor invoices and coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure timely payments.

🎯Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of steel grades (e.g., E250, E350, E450), plate thicknesses, coating weights (GSM), and welding consumables.
