Position Overview
As a Junior PCB Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of printed circuit boards used in defence embedded and power electronic systems. You will work under guidance of senior hardware designers, contributing to schematic capture, PCB layout, and documentation while ensuring designs meet reliability, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using tools such as Altium (preferred) / OrCAD.
• Create and maintain component symbols, footprints, and libraries.
• Route PCBs considering signal integrity, power integrity, creepage, clearance, and grounding.
• Support generation of Gerbers, fabrication drawings, assembly files, and documentation.
• Assist in addressing PCB issues identified during prototype testing and EMI/EMC evaluation.
• Coordinate with manufacturing plants and PCB vendors through engineering change cycles.
• Ensure PCB designs comply with internal standards and defence manufacturing practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Degree / Diploma in Electronics or related discipline.
• Hands on experience with PCB design tools.
• Understanding of multi layer PCB construction and DFM/DFA principles.
• Ability to read schematics and interpret electrical requirements.
• Good coordination and documentation skills.
Preferred (but not essential)
• Exposure to EMI/EMC design practices.
• Experience with defence, automotive, or industrial electronics.
• Familiarity with basic high speed or power PCB layouts.
