3637) Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor environmental, health and safety (EHS) standards across the fabrication plant.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor safety practices related to welding, cutting, grinding, material handling, and fabrication activities.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by all employees and contractors.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases and prepare reports.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, permits, and statutory documentation.
• Implement Permit to Work (PTW), work-at-height, hot-work, and confined-space safety procedures.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, fire safety, and mock drills.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and HR teams to improve workplace safety.
• Promote 5S and continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

✔ Minimum 5 years of relevant safety experience in fabrication / engineering industry
✔ Strong knowledge of industrial safety and fabrication-shop hazards
✔ Knowledge of PPE, fire safety, risk assessment, and safety audits
✔ Good communication and training skills
✔ Ability to independently handle plant safety activities
✔ Relevant Safety qualification/certification will be preferred.
