Position Overview
As an Embedded Hardware Design Engineer, you will take ownership of embedded electronic hardware design for defence applications. The role spans architecture definition, schematic design, board bring up, debugging, and support through qualification and production, requiring close interaction with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design embedded hardware based on microcontrollers, processors, sensors, memory, and communication interfaces.
• Select components considering reliability, availability, obsolescence management, and defence suitability.
• Prepare schematics, review PCB layouts, and support fabrication and assembly.
• Lead board bring up, troubleshooting, and functional validation.
• Support EMI/EMC, environmental, and reliability qualification activities.
• Coordinate with firmware engineers during integration and validation.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing plants during pilot and series production.
• Participate in design reviews, failure analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• BE / ME / MSc in Electronics or equivalent.
• 4–7 years of experience in embedded hardware design.
• Strong understanding of digital, analog, and mixed signal circuits.
• Hands on debugging capability using lab instruments.
• Ability to document designs clearly and systematically.
Preferred (but not essential)
• Defence, aerospace, or mission critical system experience.
• Familiarity with environmental and EMI/EMC standards.
