3426) Supervisor – Heat Treatment

🔹 Job Description
The Heat Treatment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating heat treatment operations using batch and continuous type hardening and tempering furnaces for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This role ensures that all heat treatment processes meet required metallurgical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and production schedules.

🔹Skills Required
1) Operations & Process Control

• Supervise daily operation of batch and continuous hardening and tempering furnaces.
• Ensure correct heat treatment cycles (hardening, tempering, solution treatment, aging, etc.) are followed per process sheets and customer specifications.
• Monitor furnace parameters including temperature, time, atmosphere, quenching media, and cooling rates.
• Ensure proper handling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials (e.g., carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper alloys).
  2) Quality & Metallurgical Compliance
• Ensure heat-treated parts meet mechanical and metallurgical requirements such as hardness, microstructure, and dimensional stability.
• Coordinate hardness testing, metallurgical inspections, and corrective actions for non-conforming products.
• Maintain compliance with applicable standards (AMS, ASTM, ISO, CQI-9, NADCAP, or customer-specific requirements as applicable).
• Review and maintain heat treatment records, charts, and traceability documentation.
  3) Safety & Environmental Compliance
• Enforce safe work practices related to high-temperature equipment, quenching systems, gases, and chemicals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and incident investigations when required.
  4) Team Leadership & Training
• Supervise and guide furnace operators, technicians, and support staff.
• Assign work schedules and ensure adequate staffing for production demands.
• Train team members on furnace operation, process control, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
• Evaluate employee performance and support skill development.
  5) Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure furnaces, quench systems, and instrumentation are maintained and calibrated.
• Identify process improvements to enhance productivity, energy efficiency, and quality.
• Support audits, customer visits, and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
